

Born on April 22, 1992, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Daniel was the son of Frederick Sallom and the late Donna (Wassil) Sallom. He was a graduate of Scranton High School and received a Bachelor’s degree from West Chester University. Daniel later made a home in New Bedford, where he built meaningful connections and a life rooted in care for others.
Daniel worked as a site coordinator, drama director and archery instructor at the YMCA, a role that reflected a commitment to community and service. Through daily work and steady dedication, Daniel contributed to the lives of those served by the YMCA and to the colleagues who worked alongside him. He was also a paraprofessional at Carney Academy Elementary School.
Born with talent, Daniel was a performer and event coordinator at Your Theater, performed at The Galley Bar in New Bedford and a host at The Vault Performing Arts Center. He was a model, a member of the Fall River PRIDE committee and authored a book, The Crossroads.
Daniel is survived by his fiancé, Jeremy Gonzalez; his father, Frederick Sallom; his sister, Tara Lyckowski; and his brother, Peter Lyckowski. Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Donna (Wassil) Sallom, and his sister, Stephanie Chwasciewski.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 2:00-5:00pm with Words of Reflection beginning at 4:00pm.
