David H. DaCosta

David H. DaCosta, age 61 of Dartmouth, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a courageous battle with Covid-19. Born in New Bedford, he was raised and attended school in Fairhaven. Son of Lillian (Pelletier) Vieira and Herbert Vieira, he was also the son of the late Gerald DaCosta.

He is survived by a son, David S. Englehart, two brothers Gerry DaCosta and his wife Vicki of Dartmouth, and Glenn Vieira of New Bedford; a sister, Linda J. Correia and her husband Andrew of Rochester; his nephews Steven Silcox and Jason Vieira and his wife Erica, and nieces Mia and Nora.

A special thank you to the staff at the group home in Dartmouth for all the care they provided to David. Those acts of kindness were a bright light in these dark times.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 10:00AM at St. Mary’s Church, 440 Main St., Fairhaven, MA 02719. Relatives and friends are invited.
