Demetrios "Jimmy" Demopoulos

Born in Chrisochorafa Greece, a son of the late Demos and Soultana (Alexiadis) Demopoulos he grew up there before coming to America in 1976. He was a member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church.

Jimmy was the owner and cook at Linden House of Pizza in New Bedford. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors either hunting or fishing. He also enjoyed cooking and most importantly spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Soultana Baptiste and her companion Keith Matos of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Derek Baptiste, Jr. and his companion Hayley Negalha, Demetrios Baptiste, and Dominick Baptiste; siblings, Christos Dimopoulos and his wife the late Maria Dimopoulos, Rodi Kalmpouraki and her husband Stavros, Anesti Dimopoulos and his wife Zinovia, Triantafillos Dimopoulos and his wife Alaka, Zoi Kapoukranidis and her husband John and George Dimopoulos and his wife Mirsini; and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be Friday, July 18, 2025 at 9 a.m. from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745 followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 186 Cross Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Visitation will be Thursday 4-7 p.m. For online tribute/directions: www.rock-funeralhome.com.
