Diane E. (Salt) Lafond

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Frank and Grace (Chase) Salt she was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Parish.

Mrs. Lafond was an office worker in the textile industry. She had a profound fondness for dolphins and was a casino fanatic. Diane was a long-time member and former president of the VFW Auxiliary.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Donald Lafond, Jr. of CO, Michael Lafond of Middleboro, Matthew Lafond of CA, and Philip Lafond of Acushnet; and a grandson, Chad Lafond of Freetown. She was the grandmother of the late Nathan Lafond.

Her funeral will be Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 9 a.m. from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Main
