Diane M. Cayer Samanica

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Charles R. and Marie (Farland) Cayer, she had resided in New Bedford all of her life. She was a graduate of New Bedford Voke, class of 1963.

She had worked as a bus driver for SRTA and Tremblay Bus Companies, retiring in 2004.

Diane was active in the citizen’s police class and enjoyed bike riding. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and cherished her grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Samanica and his wife Krissa of New Bedford and Shawn Samanica of Acushnet; a daughter-in-law, Michelle Chenard of New Bedford; a sister, Charlene Johnson and her husband James of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Justin Samanica and his fiancée Kaitlin Silvia, Alyssa Samanica and Skylar Samanica all of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Todd L. Samanica and sister of the late Raymond Cayer.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 10am in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
