Dolores Correia

Dolores (Santos) Correia, age 92, passed into eternal life on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 after a long illness. She was married 47 years to the love of her life, Elias “Leo” Correia who passed away 20 years ago.

She was the daughter of the late John and Isabel (Perry) Santos. Dolores was born in Fairhaven, MA and lived most of her life in New Bedford.

She worked as a para professional in the New Bedford School System until her retirement.

Dolores was a kindhearted woman who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed long rides through the country and by the ocean with her family. She was especially proud of her granddaughter, Andrea and her figure skating accomplishments.

She is survived by a daughter, Doreen (Correia) Newsham; son in-law, Edward Newsham; son, Timothy Correia and a granddaughter, Andrea Newsham.

Her funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 10 AM in the St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd, New Bedford. Visiting hours will be held prior in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford from 8-9:30 AM. Burial in St. John’s Cemetery, New Bedford. For everyone's safety, masks are required.
