

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Antone and Maria (Furtado) Cardoza, she was a lifelong New Bedford resident. Dolores was a proud stay at home mom, who loved her children and grandchildren more than anything. She took pride in her involvement in raising all of her grandchildren. Dolores enjoyed family visits, watching her favorite tv shows, cooking, and crossword puzzles. She will be remembered for her witty sense of humor and feisty personality.
Dolores is survived by her children, Michael Paiva of Acushnet and Christine Pereira and her husband Ryan of New Bedford; a sister, Mary Verroneau of Acushnet; a brother James Cardoza of Fairhaven; seven grandchildren, Kenneth (Kenny) and Jonathan Paiva, Tyler Hutchens, Alexa Hutchens , Mackenzie Hutchens, Ross Hutchens and Carys Macedo; five great-grandchildren, with one due in April and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Dennis Paiva and the sister of Edward and Antone Cardoza.
