

Donald Vieira, 79, of Acushnet passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 15, 2015. He was born in New Bedford and lived most of his life in Acushnet. He was the son of the late Caroline (Vieira) Rezendes and Manuel Rezendes.
Mr. Vieira was the founder and proprietor of Vieira Realty for 48 years and had been a certified real estate appraiser. The honor of Realtor Emeritus had been bestowed upon him by the National Association of Realtors for 40 years of service. He remained a life member of the Greater New Bedford Association of Realtors.
As an avid bowler, he played and sponsored the Monday night bowler’s team for 30 years. He served on the board of directors of the St. Anthony of New Bedford Federal Credit Union. Mr. Vieira very much enjoyed traveling extensively with his wife, Beatrice. Annually, he could be seen at the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament (Madeira Feast) enjoying the company of family, friends and acquaintances.
Mr. Vieira is survived by his wife, Beatrice, of 58 years and three children – Donald Vieira, Jr. and Michael Vieira, both of Dartmouth and his daughter, Kerry Vieira and her husband, Christopher Geaghan, of Easton. He also has four grandchildren – Lauren Vieira, Dylan Vieira, Charlotte Geaghan and Nicholas Geaghan. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He had been predeceased by his three brothers: Joseph Rezendes, Steven Rezendes and Robert Rezendes.
His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 9:00 am from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rte. 6, New Bedford.
