Donna M. Charest

Donna M. (Barrows) Charest, age 70 of Rochester passed away in St. Luke’s Hospital with her family at her side. She was the wife of Paul O. Charest to whom she shared 37 years of loving marriage. Donna passes away on her 37th wedding anniversary.

Born in Fairhaven, a daughter of the late Charles and Eliza (Reis) Barrows; she was a graduate of Fairhaven High School and was the owner operator of Donna’s Day Care for 25 years prior to her retirement.

Donna loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren; She loved her daycare babies, hosting parties, hosting family cookouts, and was a great lover of clowns. She was known around town for her long nails, her daily Scrabble games at 2:00PM.

She was always there for her family, she was a fantastic wife, and who kept her family in order. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and she will be dearly missed.

In addition to her loving husband Paul, she is survived by her children Brandy Correia and her husband Paul of New Bedford, Allison Dorschied and her husband Shawn of Fairhaven, Rick Charest and his wife Jackie of North Carolina, Paul (PJ) Scalabroni and his companion Timmie of Dartmouth and Faith Goguen and her husband Bruce of Maine; her grandchildren, Heaven, Shealynn, Hannah, Jackson, Olivia, Maxwell and Brady; and two great-grandchildren; her siblings, Bernette, Patricia, Bruce, Steven, Mariann, Susan and Kenneth; and she was the late Carl, Charles Jr., and David Barrows.

Contributions in Donna’s honor may be made to a charity of ones choice.
