Doris T. Baptiste

Doris T. Baptiste, a devoted and kind-hearted woman, passed away on February 18, 2026, at the age of 66. She was born on January 23, 1960, in New Bedford, to her late parents, John A. Francis and Marie (Morris) Francis. Doris was predeceased by her late husbands, Richard Motta and Richard Baptiste.

She received an associate's degree in Early Childhood Development from Fisher College. Her career was spent as a housekeeper at The Oaks Nursing Home in New Bedford, where her dedication and kindness touched many lives.

Doris is survived by her son, Steven Francis, and his fiancée, Desiree; her daughters, Trisha Francis and husband Ryan Hechavarria, Sherri Fonseca and fiancée Erica, and Felicia Francis; and her step-daughter, Kristen, and husband Jeffrey. She also leaves behind her sisters, Dorothy Boucher and significant other James, Tina Francis, Rosemarie Francis, and Betty-Joe Francis.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Mariyah and EJ, Tiana, Saydee and fiancée Daniel, Elijah, Na-Talyia, Aaliyah, Taevion, Noah, and Jaevrial, as well as her great-grandson, Joseph. Doris was a loving woman who helped her family in any way possible and was known for giving the warmest and strongest hugs.

In her personal life, Doris had a passion for collecting porcelain dolls, shopping, and indulging in gambling and scratch tickets. She loved music, especially soul and R&B from the 60s and 70s. Doris was a woman of faith who loved to worship Jesus.

Visiting hours will be held at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will take place at the same location on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 11:00 am, followed by a burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 559 Mt Pleasant St, New Bedford.

Doris's faithful and devoted spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
