Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late John O. and Rose (Santos) Correia, she was a longtime resident of the city.
Dorothy worked as a clerk in the New Bedford Assessors Office for 44 years before retiring in 2019. A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in New Bedford, her most favorite activities were shopping at Macy’s and QVC network.
She is survived by two nieces, Susan Correia and Cheryl Roderiques and four nephews, Mark, Michael, Bryan and John Correia. She was the mother of the late Kevin J. Burgess.
Her Funeral Service with be held Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 10:00 am in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Visiting hours are Monday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
