Edgar W. DeMoranville, age 97 of East Freetown and Florida, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 in St. Luke’s Hospital with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Virginia (Pittsley) DeMoranville.
Born in Marion, a son of the late Gilbert and Betsey (Tripp) DeMoranville, he was a boat builder for most of his life and after his retirement, he moved to Florida where he had worked as an exterminator until the age of 89 years old. Edgar served his country in the United State Army during WWII during the Burma Campaign, South-East Asia.
He is survived by his four children, Sandra Westgate of Dartmouth, Robert DeMoranville and his wife Donna of Acushnet, Nancy Marques and her husband Lawrence of E. Freetown and Timothy DeMoranville and his wife LuWayne of New Bedford; six grandchildren, twelve great great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his twelve siblings.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 10:00AM in the 1st Church of the Nazarene, 764 Hathaway Road, New Bedford, MA 02745. Relatives and friends are invited.
