Eduardo M. Vieira

Eduardo M. Vieira, 55 of New Bedford, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital after a courageous battle with Cancer. His beloved family was at his side. He is the husband of Leonor M. (Macedo) Vieira to whom she shared 31 years of loving marriage.

Born in Fenais Da Luz, St. Michael, Açores, he was the son of Eduardo M. and Maria B. ( Moreira) Vieira, he was a long time resident of New Bedford. Eduardo was self-employed carpenter prior to his illness. He loved his family above all, he loved animals; he loved carpentry and remodeling. Eduardo enjoyed his trips to the casinos with Leonor. He was an avid Benfica fan, enjoyed fishing, sweets and spending time at the Café enjoying an expresso with his father and friends.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his three sons; Brandon M. Vieira and his girlfriend Kelly Cabral of New Bedford, Shawn M. Vieira and his wife Bethany of Fall River and Aaron M. Vieira of New Bedford; two sisters, Maria A. Sousa and her husband Eduardo of Fall River and Bernadette Gonsalves of Fall River; and his expected grandson. He was the brother of the late Joao Paulo Vieira.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 9:30AM from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA 02745 followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford, MA 02746.
