Edward Duarte, Jr.

Born in Dighton, a son of the late Edward and Mary (Rapoza) Duarte, he lived most of his life in New Bedford.

Mr. Duarte served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, the New York Giants and the Red Sox. Eddie Du was an avid billiard pool player.

Eddie Du worked at Reynolds DeWalt Printing for 32 years before his retirement in 2000.

He is survived by three sons, Steven E. Duarte and his wife Janine of Dartmouth, David J. Duarte and his fiancé Jeanne MacLean of Middleboro, and Daniel R. Duarte and his girlfriend Jennifer Sousa; a grandson, Gage Duarte of Fairhaven; and two nephews.

He was the brother of the late Donald Duarte.

His visitation will be Saturday, August 1, 2015 from 9-10:30 am in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford with a service at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
