Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Gervasio and Catalina Jorge Lopez. Efrain was a graduate of New Bedford High School and was employed as a Manager at the North Dartmouth Walmart for more than 35 years.
Efrain loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed going to the casino, Bowling, cruises and watching movies. He was an avid New England Patriots fan and enjoyed collecting Patriot memorabilia.
In addition to his loving wife Catherine, he is survived by his children, Kelly Lopez, Efrain Lopez, Jr and Jacob Carignan and his wife Erin; his siblings, Johnny, Isreal, Sam and Ricky Lopez, Elizabeth Neves and Rosie Colon; his mother in-law, Paula Silvia; his sister in-law Karen Costa and her husband James; a very special young woman, Karen Amarao and his best friend Elliot; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and 25 nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Jerry Lopez.
Efrain's church service will be on Friday, September 25, 2026 at 9:30AM at the Christian Fellowship Center, 822 Church Street, New Bedford, MA. with a Celebration of Life immediately following at White's of Westport, 66 State Road, Westport, MA. The family has asked that those attending Efrain’s Celebration to please wear their favorite sports jersey or tee shirt.
