Elaine Roosevelt Boutin

Elaine R. (Lima) Boutin, 89, of Allentown, NJ and formerly of New Bedford passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 in Robert Woods Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, NJ. She was the loving wife of the late Paul R. Boutin with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Ferreira) Lima she lived most of her life in New Bedford. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Fatima Church, New Bedford.

Elaine attended Dartmouth High School and Kinyon Campbell Secretarial School. She went on to work as a secretary for the President of Aerovox for 44 years – retiring July 1997.

She was an ardent gardener and would spend hours tending to the beautiful landscaping that surrounded her home. With her husband Paul she enjoyed playing golf, bowling and until their later years bicycle riding on Cape Cod. She was funny, kind and would do anything for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her nieces, Cynthia Curry and her husband David Grande of Allentown, NJ. and Sharon Curry of New Bedford. Also survived by her niece-in-law Sheila Tierney-Curry the wife of her late nephew Keith Curry. She was the sister of the late Mary Curry.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford.
