Evelyn Coutu

Mrs. Coutu was a lifelong New Bedford resident prior to moving into Sippican Healthcare. She was the daughter of the late Aldric and Leonie (Boudreau) Landry.

Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper at the Acushnet Company for many years until her retirement. She was a past treasurer of the Royal Travelers.

Surviving are her children Raymond J. Coutu and his wife Claudette of Rochester, Rita Coutu of Portland, ME and one grandchild, Ryan Coutu of Rochester. She was the sister of the late Raymond Landry.

Evelyn’s family would like to thank the staff of Sippican and Brookhaven Hospice for their care and support.

Her funeral mass will be held Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 10am at St Joseph-St Therese Church, 51 Duncan Street, New Bedford. Visiting hours are Thursday morning prior to the mass from 8 am to 9:30 am at the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford. Burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or to a charity of your choice.
