Fernando Costa

Born in Sao Miguel Azores, a son of the late Carlos and Maria (Amaral) Costa he grew up there and came to America in 1966.

Fernando worked in construction locally. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, he loved his family, and he had a heart of gold. While in the nursing home, he had many friends and he was loved by the staff who enjoyed his sense of humor because it kept them laughing. He enjoyed playing cards and dominos.

He is survived by a sister, Eduarda Vasconcelos of Acushnet; a brother-in-law, Daniel Medeiros; nieces and nephews, Marina Clementino, Tony Correia who is also his Godson, Mario Correia, Michael Correia, Debbie DeAlmeida, and Darlene Hepburn.

His visitation will be Sunday, February 13, 2022 9 a.m. to 11a.m. in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. All other services are private. The family requests no flowers, please. For online tribute/directions: www.rock-funeralhome.com
