Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Altina (Nunes) Araujo.
Florence was a graduate of New Bedford High School. She worked at Mass Shirt as a Stitcher, and the City of New Bedford Cafeteria Department prior. Flo enjoyed life in general and was the life of any party. She loved to bake, took care of her rose garden, played the piano, took photos everywhere she went, and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Spending time with family was very important, especially with her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She touched the hearts of many and she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her loving son, Steven L. Carreiro and his wife Laura of Dartmouth; her grandchildren, Adam D. Carreiro and his wife Melanie of Hanson, MA, and Jeffrey M. Carreiro and his fiancé Kaylene of Plymouth, MA. She was the sister of the late Constance Almeida.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 9:00am from ROCK FUNERAL HOME, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth. Her visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd. New Bedford, MA 02745. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
