

Jerry was born in New Bedford, to the late Gerard (“Freddie”) and Doris (Longtin) Bernard and was a life-long resident of the area.
He graduated from New Bedford High School.
Jerry served in the United States Navy, on the USS WASP as a Radio Operator and stationed in the Mediterranean during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
After the service he earned an Associate in Art degree from Bristol Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Southeastern Massachusetts University (now UMASS Dartmouth)
He worked for the Acushnet Company (Titleist) for many years, then the Commonwealth of Massachusetts until his retirement in 2012.
He loved spending time with his family and friends and traveling to Maryland
He is survived by his niece and godchild Jodi Olson and her husband Matthew; and their son Ryan of Crofton, MD; a brother-in-law, Bradley Senn , niece Aimee Warddell and her 3 daughters all of Maryland; and many dear family and friends
He was the brother of the late Janice (Bernard) Senn.

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service with Military Honors on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 10:30 AM in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford. Visiting hours, Sunday, October19, 2014 from 5-7 PM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
