Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Joseph and Frances Andrade, he was a longtime resident of Fairhaven. He served in the United States Army.
Gilbert worked as a machinist for Cornell Dubilier and JC Rhodes until his retirement.
His interests included golfing and playing cards.
Surviving in addition to his loving companion, Barbara Jacobs are his best friends, Robert and Beverly Rock of Fairhaven. He was the brother of the late Joseph and Janice Andrade.
