

Gregory Gravanis, 67, of Acushnet, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at The Royal of Fairhaven. He was the husband of Carol E. (Boulanger) LeBlanc Gravanis with whom he shared 15 years of marriage.
Born in Amfilochia, Greece, the son of the late Costadinos and Anastasia (Demetriou) Gravanis, he came to the United States in 1962 and had resided in Acushnet for the past 15 years.
He had attended the Rhode Island School of Electronics and Rhode Island School of Design and received an Associate’s degree from Northeastern University in Electronics Engineering.
Mr. Gravanis was most recently employed as a maintenance supervisor for Softub and previously worked as a facilities manager for Grinnel Pajama, a cutting room manager for States Niteware and was the proprietor of Acushnet Lawn Mower.
He loved listening to music and traveling, especially trips to National Parks. Gregory’s family would like to thank the staff at The Royal of Fairhaven and Fidelis Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Nikolas Gravanis and his wife Amanda of Assonet; a step-daughter, Lisa L. Roy and her husband John of Acushnet; three grandchildren, Hailey, Connor and Jack; three sisters, Athanasia Hassan of S. Natick, Demi Hassan of Waterbury CT and Irene Efthimiades and her husband Thomas of New Bedford; a brother, John Gravanis and his wife Asphsia of Westfield, MA; a sister-in-law, Ellie Gravanis of Winchester, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George Gravanis.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 10am at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 186 Cross Rd., Dartmouth. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8pm at the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Flowers welcome or donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
