Born in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late Mahmut and Olga (Schulze) Mustafa, she was a long time resident of New Bedford. Hanifa was a member of the Acushnet-Wesley Church and the New Life South Coast of New Bedford. She was employed as a stitcher and a bus driver retiring in 1995.
Hanifa loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she enjoyed roller skating and was an avid knitter and enjoyed crocheting. She also loved dancing and music.
She is survived by her children Deborah A. Rose, Linda J. Rose, Doreen N. Rose and her companion Mark Dayton all of New Bedford and Kathy J. Tate and her companion Richard Souza of Fairhaven; her siblings, Elsa Mustafa and Ali Mustafa and his wife Shirley of New Bedford, Fatima Mustafa, Zera Krcelic and Hassan Mustafa all of CA; four grandchildren, Steven Vieira, Adam, Andrew and Aaron Tate; three great-grandsons, Cullen Tate, Lucas Vieira and Declan Tate; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth Lammers.
