Helen E. Gordon

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Marnik) Wyzga, she was a lifelong resident of the area.

Mrs. Gordon was the Cafeteria Manager at Normandin Junior High School for many years before retiring. She was a member of the Polish Auxiliary, an avid square dancer and loved to play bingo.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law Rolande Gordon-Koepke and her husband Dick of Mashpee; a granddaughter, Amy Gordon-Cannon and her husband Eric of Acushnet; a grandson, Kevin Gordon of Fairhaven; a great grandson, Bryce Cannon and several nieces and nephews. She also was the mother of the late Walter E. Gordon and sister of the late Sally Kujawski, Teddy Wyzga, Mitchell Wyzga, Nelly Camaro, Stella Smith and Julia Roszkiewicz.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass Friday, December 28, 2012 at 9 AM in St. Mary’s Church, Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours, Thursday 3-6 PM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
