Born in Fall River, a son of the late James and Marion (Orr) Wilkinson, he grew up in Weymouth, Massachusetts and lived in Pembroke, Massachusetts until he retired to Lady Lake, Florida where he lived for 25 years; more recently he shared a home with family in Farmington, Maine and then Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
Mr. Wilkinson served with the US Marines in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was a Service Manager in the Automobile Industry for many years; he owned his own taxi service before retiring.
He is survived by his children, Stephen Wilkinson and his wife Patricia of Cleveland, Georgia Sally Lawrence and her husband Robert of Farmington, Maine, Nancy Wilkinson and her husband Albert Lay of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Glenn Wilkinson and his wife Maria of Roy, Utah and Wendy Mihal and her husband Gary of Sloansville, New York; two brothers, George T. Wilkinson of North Weymouth, Massachusetts and Robert A. Wilkinson and his wife Yvonne of Lady Lake, Florida; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His private funeral is in the care of the Rock Funeral Home in New Bedford, MA; burial will be scheduled at a future date and will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
