Isabelle Forand

Isabelle “Izzy” (Lawson) Forand, 88, formerly of Acushnet, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Sippican Healthcare in Marion after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Raymond O. Forand.

Born in Swans Island, Maine, a daughter of the late Carl C. and Daisy M. (Stockbridge) Lawson, she had been a lifelong resident of Acushnet.

Mrs. Forand was a graduate of Pemetic High School in Southwest Harbor, Maine.

Izzy enjoyed her kids, grandkids and loved family get togethers. She loved playing Bingo and watching game shows. She was the strength that held the family together. We will miss you Izzy!

Survivors include her children, Diane Brodeur, Patricia Costa and her husband Steve and James Forand all of New Bedford, Michael Forand and his wife Johnann, Barbara St. John and her husband Steve all of Rochester, Carol Charbonneau and her husband Leo, Nancy Brown and her husband Robert and Kathleen Massey all of Acushnet; sixteen grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Carl C. Lawson, Jr., Willimean Butler, Dorothea Lawson, Helen Butler, Thelma Gazarelli, Calvin Lawson and Benjamin Lawson. She was the grandmother of the late Roger Boucher, Jr. and Daniel Tripp.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 9am from the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a funeral mass at 10am in St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet. Visiting hours Sunday from 2-6pm. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice, 182 North Main St., Fall River, MA 02720.
