James E. Bourgeois

James E. Bourgeois, age 70, of New Bedford passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 in Massachusetts General Hospital. He was the former husband of Josephine Rothwell of MS.

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Ernest and Laura (Almeida) Bourgeois.

Jim was a hard working roofer. In his spare time, he enjoyed and excelled at slot car racing, shooting, hiking, camping and all outdoor sports. He is survived by two daughters, Sherry Boule of Acushnet and Kelly Bourgeois of New Bedford; and his wife Mariana Bourgeois. He was the father of the late Jody and Michelle Bourgeois.

His visitation will be Friday, January 10, 2020 4-8 p.m. in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. All other services are private. For online tribute/directions www.rock-funeralhome.com.

Jimmy was the nicest man i know he would say nothing about anyone he would laugh and shake his head . last summer i was at my parents grave and i would be there in my car then all of a sudden he was there he would get in my car and talk about the old days the great days he came by a few times and it helped me alot dealing with my parents death he was there for me . sherry and Kelly my heart goes out to you my god help you through this. May he be in peace and will be very missed
