Born in New Bedford he was the son of the late James Rutledge and the late Loretta (Cyr) Rutledge. Mr. Rutledge served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. He worked for Coyne Textile Services in the Laundry. He was a teamster for the local 59. He loved woodworking, traveling and Sci-Fi movies. He was an avid dog lover and his best buds were Ruby, Clancy, Buddy, and Reload to name a few.
Survivors in addition to his wife are two step sons Glenn Munroe and his wife Karen of New Bedford, Mark Munroe of New Bedford, three grandchildren: Shawn Munroe and his wife Michele of Assonet, Matthew Munroe and his wife Bethany of Fall River, Dustin Munroe of Attleboro, two great grandchildren: Sophia and Mason Munroe of Assonet. He was the step father of the late Brian James Munroe and the brother of the late Joan Stack.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 9:30am at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, Acushnet Ave, New Bedford. His visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 5-8pm at the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. For tributes/directions: www.rock-funeralhome.com
