Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Roger and Dorothea (Loader) Tremblay, she spent her childhood years in Fairhaven.
Janice raised her three children in Acushnet before moving to New Bedford and went on to work at Titleist until her retirement.
Janice loved adventure of any kind. Whether it was trying out a bold new hairstyle, which she did often, travelling to the Virgin Islands with friends, vacations to Disney, Mexico, Bahamas with her grandkids, or of course her must see Graceland, she was up for just about anything, so long as it would not interrupt watching General Hospital. When dining out with Janice, you knew all you had to do was give her a few bites of your favorite dish and she could go back to her kitchen and replicate it for you. She was a master in the kitchen and found joy in passing down her long held secret recipes to the two Anthonys in her life.
She loved to laugh. She was never afraid to be silly, especially with her grandkids who she adored. She was teased for her absolute love of shopping of every kind but it was known that her true joy was in the giving. She was always bringing everyone little surprises for no other reason than that she had thought of them when she saw it. Even in her final days at the nursing home she asked that little gifts be brought in so she could pass them out to all the people caring for her. Her generous spirit will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have met her.
Janice’s family includes her children, Jennifer Lanzoni, Anthony Lanzoni and wife Leigh, and Gina LaFountain and companion Anthony Arruda; her grandchildren, Kamryn, Sophia, Lilly, Griffin, and Max; her special niece, Lori-Ann Charpentier and her family, her devoted friends Stacey Burke and Louise Staiti, her late sister, Maureen Kendall; her brothers Donald and Richard Tremblay; and several nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Southcoast Oncology and Alden Court for their care and compassion.
