Born in Acushnet on July 31, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Jovin and Henriette (Tremblay) Jovin. Jeannette was a lifelong resident of Acushnet, except for time spent as a young bride supporting her husband Roy during his service in the U.S. Army, when they lived in Karlsruhe, Germany, where her son Christopher was born, and in Washington State. In her final years, she found comfort and compassionate care at Alden Court Nursing Care & Rehabilitation Center of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, where she was a grateful resident.
A graduate of Saint Francis Xavier School of Acushnet who attended New Bedford Vocational High School, Jeannette was a proud employee of the Titleist Corporation, where her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression.
Jeannette was a woman of deep and abiding faith; a lifelong Catholic whose spirituality guided her through life's joys and challenges. She was a voracious reader with a passion for history and politics, always eager to learn and engage in thoughtful conversation. Music filled her soul—she loved to dance—and she found joy in painting alongside her beloved husband Dennis.
Above all, Jeannette was devoted to her family. She instilled in her children the timeless values of hard work and honesty, lessons that continue to shape their lives. Her warmth, strength, and gentle wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Dennis Taylor and Roy Eadie; her cherished son, J. Christopher Eadie; her parents, Joseph Jovin and Henriette (Tremblay) Jovin; and her siblings, Therese Oliver, Doris Gazda, and George Jovin.
Jeannette is survived by her devoted children, Elizabeth Cote, Michael Eadie and his wife Maria, Jennifer Heys and her husband James, and David Taylor and his wife Melinda; and her cherished grandchildren, Jayme Eadie, Brad Eadie, Noah Eadie, Jillian Cote, Laura Cote, Henry Eadie, Thea Heys, Tamryn Heys, Erin Taylor, Cole Taylor, and Alec Taylor.
Her visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Saint Francis Xavier Church, 125 Main Street, Acushnet, Massachusetts. Burial will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery at 12:30 pm.
