Born in New Bedford, MA, he was a son of the late George and Ada Kossoi McGinnis.
Jerry served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He earned a BS in Textile Technology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Jerry was a textile executive for many years and retired as CEO from Plymkraft, Inc.
Survivors, in addition to his wife since 1999, include one daughter, Heather McGinnis of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Harriet Barrow of East Freetown, MA, and Karen Thibault of Swansea, MA; and one brother, Harold McGinnis of Woodstock, GA.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Rock Funeral home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will be private.
