Joan M. Pauline

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late John L. Spinner and Mary (McMullen) Hayes, she lived in Glendale California for many years before moving back to New Bedford.

She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Kinyon Campbell Business School.

While in California, Joan had worked in the finance industry specializing in mortgages. After returning to New Bedford, she worked for AT & T.

Joan enjoyed ceramics, reading and playing Bingo. She especially loved her mice.

Surviving in addition to her loving husband is her sister, Darlene Chase; her brother, John L. Spinner both of New Bedford; her nieces, Lisa Sequiera, Sharlene Salvador, Tammy Raposo, Amy Lima, Melissa Felix and Crystal Galligan and several great-nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Janis Galligan and aunt of the late Sherry Benson and Kendra Bettencourt.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 10:30 AM in St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 136 Rivet St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
