

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Ceslaw and Anna (Koscielniak) Baron, he had resided in Acushnet for most of his life.
Mr. Baron had worked in various positions in the local textile industry and retired as plant engineer at H. F. Livermore in Allston, MA.
He had received a certificate of completion from the New Bedford Textile School. Mr. Baron was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and also enjoyed golfing and sport fishing.
Survivors include a son, Joseph P. Baron of Fairhaven; a daughter, Phyllis M. Laferriere and her husband Roland of Milford; two brothers, Dr. Chester Baron and Louis Baron both of Fairhaven; four grandchildren, Anita Baron of Fairhaven, Sheryl Baron of Yardley, PA, Peter Baron of Acushnet and Thomas Poirier of Milford; five great-grandchildren, Aiden and Alyssa Costa of Fairhaven, Jasmin Baron of CA, Madeleine and William Poirier of Dracut, MA; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Stanley, Walter, John, Mike and Anna Baron, Mary Dziura and Amelia Benoit and father-in-law of the late Diane G. Baron.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 9am from the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a funeral mass at 10am in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 235 North Front St., New Bedford. Visiting hours Monday 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Burial in River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven.
