Jovino Machado

Born in Achada Sao Miguel Azores, a son of the late Julio and Jorgina (Raposo) Machado he was the last to pass of his parent’s 12 children. He grew up in Achada and lived most of his life in New Bedford. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church.

Mr. Machado worked as a thread tender. He was active at his church and he was a parish envelope collector. Jovino was a huge Bruins and Porto fan. He loved to spend time in his garden and tending to his various vegetables.

He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Levesque and her husband David of Barrington, RI and Ana Fennell of Long Island, NY; a daughter-in-law, Ana Machado of New Bedford; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Jose Machado.

His funeral will be Tuesday, October 10, 2023 9 a.m. from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St., New Bedford.
