Juan Garcia Nieves

Born in Ajunta, Puerto Rico, he was a longtime New Bedford resident. Juan was an Agricultural Foreman in the local cranberry industry. He was an Auxiliary Police Officer for the City of New Bedford, he enjoyed learning new things, he had green thumb, and loved antique car’s and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by three daughters, Migdalia Watin of NY, Lillian Colon and her husband of Jose of New York and Fannie Nurse and her husband Michael of Sandwich; four sons, Robin Garcia and his wife Kate of NY, Edward Garcia and his wife Helen of NY, Edwin Garcia and his companion Carmen of NY and Mark Rocha and his wife Lisa of Plymouth; and two sisters, Virginia Rizzo and Ignacia Irizarry; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Saul Garcia and Charles Rocha and was predeceased by 8 brothers and 2 sisters.

Juan’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10:00AM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA 02745. Relatives and friends are invited.
