Kathleen Frates

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Henry Finnerty, Sr. and Dora (Millette) Finnerty, she was a lifelong area resident.

A graduate of Fairhaven High School, class of 1955, she worked as a Secretary at Mainline Tire for over 30 years. Her best times spent were with her family who she adored.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Jennifer Crook, the nurses and staff at Hawthorn Oncology and the Steward Home Care Visiting Nurses for their compassionate care.

She is survived by two sons; Richard J. Frates, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Fairhaven, Michael A. Frates and his wife Michele of Acushnet, one daughter; Tammy A. Frye and her husband Jon of Acushnet, one sister; Patricia Gosselin of Westport, five grandchildren; Richard Frates III, Thomas Frates, Katie Szynal, Stephanie and Brittanie Frye, two great-grandchildren; Olivia and Lukas Szynal, and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Henry Finnerty, Jr. and grandmother of the late Michael R. Frates.
