Kathleen O. Viera

Born and raised in Vermont, the daughter of the late Richard D. and Marita S. (Root) Bolio, Kathleen moved to New Bedford at the age of 16. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Porky” Viera. Kathleen worked as a supervisor at Cornell Dubilier for 10 years before dedicating her life to being a proud stay-at-home mom.

Kathleen is survived by her sons, Robert C. Viera, Jr. and his girlfriend, Lidia Cusson, and David A. Viera and his wife, Rebecca. She was also preceded in death by her son, Mark S. Viera. Her legacy includes her beloved grandchildren, Chad M. Viera, Zachary Viera, and Tyler Viera. Kathleen's family also included her beloved grand dogs, Wilson and Josie. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Rollin, Peter, and Richard Bolio, Mary Stratton, and Beverly Caples.

Kathleen enjoyed spending time tending to her home and yard, dining out, working on jigsaw puzzles, and watching Wheel of Fortune. She also enjoyed an adult beverage on occasion.

Visiting hours will be held at Rock Funeral Home, located at 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Her Funeral will begin on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 8:00 am from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 am at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd, New Bedford. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, 1100 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford.

Kathleen will be remembered for her dedication to her family and her vibrant spirit.
