He was the beloved husband of Anna M. (Calvao) Camara, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, Kenny was the son of the late Lawrence H. and Lillian E. (Braman) Camara. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Kenny dedicated more than 30 years of his career to Aerovox Corp, where he served as a Manager of Data Processing. He took great pride in his work and in the relationships he built throughout his career.
In his free time, Kenny enjoyed playing golf, traveling around the world, and taking cruises. He looked forward to his weekly card games every Tuesday and was an enthusiastic fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. While relaxing at home he could usually be found listening to the music of his beloved Kingston Trio or John Denver.
While Kenny had many interests, his family was always his greatest priority. He was a sweet, kind, funny, and friendly man who had a genuine desire to help others. He would go out of his way to do something for someone, even for people he did not know. Kenny truly was “everyone’s friend.” His contagious smile and warm personality left an impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather—a man who made his family proud.
In addition to his loving wife, Anna, Kenny is survived by his children, Lisa Webster and her husband, Stephen, and Keith Camara and his wife, Katie; his grandchildren, Rachel Gorman and her husband, Bourke, Sarah Whittaker and her husband, Jamie, Abigail Camara, and Andrew Camara; his great-grandchildren, Eloise Gorman and James Whittaker; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Brian L. Camara.
His Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 from 9:30am – 11:00am, followed by a 11:00am service in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
