Laurent Edouard Moreau

A lifelong New Bedford resident, Mr. Moreau was the son of the late Laurent C. and Marcelline (L’Echelle) Moreau.

Laurent was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School and worked at Morse Cutting Tools for 28 years until opening his own business. He was the owner and proprietor of A & M Tool Grinding in Acushnet, MA. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. A family oriented individual Laurent loved the time he spent with his family and friends. He was a member of the Freetown VFW Post.

Survivors include his 6 children, Laurent A. Moreau and his wife Susan of Acushnet, Ronald H. Moreau and his wife Yvette of Wareham, Y. Carol McKay of New Bedford, Paulette Ponte of New Bedford, Janice LeBlanc of New Bedford, Suzanne Church and her husband Ed of North Dartmouth; 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.He was the beloved friend of Midori Foss and the brother of the late Lucienne Protin.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 10am at St John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd, East Freetown, MA. Visiting hours are omitted. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements are in the care of the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford.
