Laurinda Amaral

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Luiz C. and Alexandria (Rocha) Freitas and resided in Fairhaven. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Kinyon Campbell Business School. She worked as a secretary at Morse Twist Drill until her retirement in 1974.

Survivors include her daughter Sharyn Meehan and her husband Douglas of Fairhaven, a sister, Katie DeMello of Fairhaven; a granddaughter Jamie Lynn Meehan of Fairhaven; and a great-granddaughter Tayla Marie McCormack of Fairhaven.

Her visiting hours will be held Monday,September 24, 2012 from 9am to 10am at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 11am at St Joseph Church, Spring Street, Fairhaven, MA.
