Lino Mario Vitorino

Lino M. Vitorino, age 48, of New Bedford, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025, in St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, after a battle with cancer. He was the husband of Gabriela G. (Caetano) Vitorino, to whom he had been married for 26 years.

Born in Povoacao, São Miguel, Azores, the son of the late Juvenal Manuel Machado Vitorino and Maria da Gloria (Couto) Vitorino, he worked as a landscaper with Dan Chambers for many years until his illness.

Lino loved to fish and he loved the ocean. He was also an avid Benfica Fan.

In addition to his wife, Lino is survived by his two sons, Alex Vitorino and Austin Vitorino, and his wife, Abigail, all of New Bedford; three brothers, Francisco and Joe Araujo, and Helder Vitorino; two sisters, Dina Bella Smith and Tatiana V. Smith, and many nieces and nephews.

His Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 4 to 7 pm in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. To place an online tribute or for directions, please visit: www.rock-funeralhome.com
