

She was born on January 18, 1936 in New Bedford, MA to George A. and Angelene (Cambra) Valley. Lorraine was raised in New Bedford and graduated from the Cape Cod Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a medical receptionist for various doctors in the New Bedford area.
She married Maurice (‘Ozzie’) LaFrance in 1957. They lived and raised their two sons in Dartmouth, MA. There she attended St. Julie’s Church, where she was the President and later Treasurer of the Ladies Guild. She was awarded the Marian Award by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fall River, MA. Lorraine lived in Dartmouth for 36 years before moving to Fairhaven, MA in 1996. While living in Fairhaven she met Edward R. Allaire. They were married in 2004.
She is survived by her husband, Edward of Fairhaven, MA; her brother George A. Valley of St. Augustine, FL; her son, Paul J. LaFrance and his wife Patricia M. LaFrance of Hollis, NH; her grandchildren Grace E. LaFrance of Washington DC, Evan M. LaFrance, Tony A. LaFrance, and Violette M. LaFrance, all of Hollis, NH; her step-children Celine Mathieu, Charles (and Angela) Allaire, Thomas Allaire (and Anne English), John (and Kim) Allaire, Catherine (and Karl) Spooner and Edward (and Megan) Allaire II, all of Fairhaven, MA, and a number of nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Maurice, her sister Grace A. Picinisco, and her son, Steven G. LaFrance.
Lorraine loved spending time with her family, shopping, get togethers, and having lunch with her girlfriends.
