Lorraine was the beloved wife of the love of her life, John Carvalho, Jr., with whom she shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Clara (Silvia) Benevides and was a graduate of Portsmouth High School.
Lorraine's greatest joy in life was her family. She loved and lived for her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, who were always her first and highest priority. She was known for her kind heart, unwavering loyalty, and devoted nature, always placing the needs of others before her own. A true sweetheart, Lorraine was loved and respected by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She found happiness in life's simple pleasures, especially shopping, gardening with both flowers and vegetables, and caring for animals. Lorraine had a special gift for working with and training dogs of all breeds, reflecting her gentle spirit and deep compassion for all living things.
In addition to her devoted husband, John, Lorraine is survived by her loving children, Melissa Masse and her fiancé, Scott Bernier, of East Freetown, Brian Carvalho, and Michael Carvalho of Connecticut. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Leviathan and Jessie Masse, Brandon and Emma Carvalho, and Chad Bernier and fiancé, Montana Souza, Brielly, Aaron, Ayden, and Noah Bernier; her treasured great-granddaughter, Beatrix Lilly; and her best friend of more than 30 years, Ann Rod.
