

Born in Norwich, CT, daughter of the late Francis and Georgianna (Blair) Menard, she had been a resident of New Bedford and Acushnet since 1959.
Mrs. Jaros had worked as a housekeeper in private homes for several years. She also worked at Rodney Metals in New Bedford.
Lucy was very active with the Acushnet Seniors and Council on Aging. She was a former teacher’s aide at St. Francis Elementary School. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, walking and exercising. She also loved animals, especially her late dog, Chalupa.
She is survived by her daughter, Laurel A. Jaros and her boyfriend John Austin of E. Freetown; her grandson, Brian R. Dearden of New Bedford; her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Dearden of New Bedford, Matthew Williams of Ohio and Jordan Carlesi of New Bedford; her brother-in-law, Donald Desroches and husband of the late Alberta Desroches of Acushnet; her nephews, David Desroches and his girlfriend Joanne of Acushnet and Michael Jaros and his wife Diane of NH; and several nieces, great nieces, and one great nephew.
