Manuel Q. DeBrito

Manuel Q. DeBrito, age 78, of New Bedford passed away on September 18, 2025 at his home in New Bedford, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Deolinda. (Ourique) DeBrito, to whom he had been married for 50 years.

He was born in Aqualava, Terceira, Azores, the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Quiteria) DeBrito. Manuel was employed as a Laborer with Local 151 and S&F Concrete for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and caring for his animals.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, he is survived by his two daughters, Melinda Silva and her husband Marco of New Bedford and Melissa DeBrito of New Bedford; four grandchildren Ethan and Abby Ramos, Isabella and Christian Silva; a sister Filomena Barcellos and several nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Nelia Brito.

His funeral will be Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 10 a.m. from Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St., New Bedford, MA.
