Manuel Pavao Lima

Manuel P. Lima, 90, of Northborough and formerly of Acushnet passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026 in Beaumont Nursing Center. He was the husband of the late Dorothy C. (Orlowski) Lima with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Manuel P. and Belmira (Rego) Lima he lived most of his life in Acushnet. He was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Acushnet.

Mr. Lima graduated from New Bedford High School in 1954 and later graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1958.

Manny was a member and former president of the Greater New Bedford Pharmaceutical Association, the Southeastern Massachusetts Pharmaceutical Association, Phi Delta Chi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy Alumni Association, Acushnet Youth Athletic Association, Mariners Baseball Team as a coach and manager, VFW and AFC baseball teams, AARP and Mature Outlook Seniors.

Manny had a distinguished career in pharmacy working as a Pharmacist at Brooklawn Pharmacy, Acushnet Pharmacy and CVS Pharmacies in both New Bedford and Fairhaven, MA. He took a genuine interest in each customer’s needs offering thoughtful, individualized care.

Manny and his beloved wife enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, visiting almost every state. In his spare time, Manny enjoyed bowling, computers, anything baseball, stamp-collecting and photography. In his later years, he enjoyed dinners with close friends, time with his Bingo buddies and of course, laughing it up with the Happy Hour Gang at Atria. He took the greatest pride in seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren flourish.

He is survived by his children David W. Lima and his wife Pamela of Berlin, MA, Steven M. Lima and his wife Pauline of Nashua, NH, Michael R. Lima of Tempe, AZ, Robert B. Lima and his wife Cheryl of Murrietta, CA; grandchildren, Ben and his wife Mariana, Justin and his wife Christine, Nick and his wife Carolyn, Dominique and her husband Nick, Michael and his wife Emily, Sarah, Ryan and his fiancée Gloria, Kiersten, Rachel, Kaylee and Logan; step-grandchildren Nick and Kathleen; great-grandchildren Vinny, Jacob, Tyler, Claire, Henry and Elsie.

His funeral will be Friday, October 2, 2026 at 10 a.m. from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Church, 125 Main St., Acushnet, MA.
