Mark D. Dayton

Mark was born in New Bedford, the son of Donald and Elizabeth (Howarth) Dayton, and was a lifelong Southcoast resident. He was employed by Harvey Industries/Lansing Building Products as a sales representative for more than 35 years.

Mark was always happiest when with Doreen, his family, and close friends. When meeting Mark one quickly knew that he was a kind, caring, generous, and welcoming man, feelings that invariably grew the longer you were fortunate enough to know him. He could build or fix almost anything and became a knowledgeable beekeeper as well. Mark really enjoyed working on antique cars and trucks and repairing and riding motorcycles (especially Harley Davidsons).

In addition to his wife Doreen, he is survived by his daughter Portia Dayton of Dorchester; his siblings, Ellen Dayton of Dartmouth and Nancy McGowan and her husband Frank of Annapolis, Maryland; nieces Maddie and Annie Craig of New York and nephew Dakota Green of Dartmouth.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 06, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00PM with a Funeral Service at 5:00PM in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745.
