Mary L. (Dillingham) Pittsley, age 64 of East Freetown, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital with her family by her side. She was the wife of Wayne Pittsley to whom she was happily married for 47 years.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Cobb) Dillingham; Mary was a lifelong resident of East Freetown. She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, class of 1972. Mary was employed by the United States Postal Service as a Rural Letter Carrier for 31 years, retiring in 2009.
Mary loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed being at home surrounded by loved ones, going camping, and taking trips to Foxwoods and Atlantic City. She liked working on the computer and selling collectables on eBay.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her children, Sheila Bettencourt and her husband Keith, Hildie Gifford and her fiancé Raymond Aguiar Jr, all of E. Freetown and Jason Pittsley and his wife Elizabeth of Acushnet; two sisters, Joanne Dillingham and Karen Ruffley, both of Dartmouth; 10 grandchildren, Alicia, Devin, Ashleigh, Soraya, Gavin, Tyler, Booth, Brayden, Cassidy and Zoe; her In-Laws, Robert and Janet Lanagan of Freetown. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William and John Dillingham.
Her visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00PM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA 02745. Relatives and friends are invited.
