

Born in Glenham, NY, the son of Alessandro and Giovanni Fastoso, he spent his childhood in Glenham and Beacon, NY and has lived in Dartmouth for 34 years. He served in the US Army from 1955-1959 at Fort Devens.
Mr. Fastoso was co-owner of Bay State TV and Appliance with his father-in-law Frank Kmiec until he retired in 1997.
An avid golfer, he was a member of the Rochester Golf Club and during his lifetime made three holes-in-one. He also was a member of the New Bedford Rod and Gun Club where held many positions of leadership. Mike crafted muzzle loading rifles and displayed them at various events dressed in Colonial garb.
Along with his wife he leaves his loving children, Michael A. Fastoso, II and his wife Ingrid, Lynne F. Fleming and her husband Todd, and Mark A. Fastoso and his wife Stephanie. He is survived by his sister, Josephine Maher of Beacon, N.Y. He was cherished by his grandchildren Alex Fleming, Spencer Fleming and Evan Fastoso. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Richard Fastoso, brothers Louis and John Fastoso and sister, Ann O’Rourke.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 9 AM from the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by his funeral mass at 10 AM in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8 PM.
