Miguel F. Aguiar

Born in Santa Barbara de Santo Antonio Capelas Sao Miguel, a son the of the late Jose Aguiar and the late Mariana (Farias) de Aguiar he grew up there before coming to the United States.

Miguel worked for JF White Construction for many years retiring in 2007. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, scratch tickets, playing dominoes, and eating Sunday brunch.

He is survived by his children, Enjoli Mendonca of New Bedford, Alexander Aguiar and his wife Ashley of New Bedford, and Tanya Alferes and her husband Cody; Goddaughter, Sara Dutra; grandchildren, Dominic, Zoraia, Joshua, Natalie, Raelynn, and Camilla; siblings, Maria Medeiros of Falmouth, Mariana Aguiar of Toronto, Canada, Jose Aguiar of Santa Barbara de Santo Antonio Capelas, Joao Aguiar of Santa Barbara de Santo Antonio Capelas, and Antonio Farias of Santa Barbara de Santo Antonio Capelas; and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 9:30 AM from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by Mass of Christian of Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00PM. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
